Sandy Hook School Shooting

This from one report on the shooting as an example of the propaganda that needs to be countered.

Note carefully this is not about taking our guns, it is about taking away our rights. I have no idea how the simplistic idea of a gun grab got started but it has unfortunately become entrenched in firearm owners minds. It is not about guns it is about control.

Like sharks in a feeding frenzy gun control will rip and tear at the most tragic events to fuel their agenda. Like buck caught in head lights firearm owners stand transfixed, immobile staring at the light
not knowing what to do.

Wake up and counter this propaganda or lose this fight, your guns and your rights to safety, freedom and that of your children are not protected by magic. That is your responsibility and not that of anyone

This follows a long heart wrenching story of one child and her parents that CNN showed with a link to that footage.

[Fueled by a righteous anger over this event, we must do something to curb the power of the high priests of gun worship, the National Rifle Association, and to send a stern warning to their lackeys in Congress.

The NRA will trot out its insane refrain, "Guns don't kill people; people kill people." But mentally ill people, like the young man who took these lives, can kill far fewer people with fists or knives. We'll never be able to predict those whose illness will turn them homicidal, but we can at least make it as difficult as possible for them to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Even in the Supreme Court's disastrous decision that the Second Amendment gives private citizens a constitutional right to weapons, there's room for regulation. Let's do it.

Our first reaction to this event was: "Not again!" Now it has to pivot quickly to: "Never again!"]
"Two memorials remain today at Thermoplylae. Upon the modern one is engraved his response to Xerxes' demand that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas' reply was two words, Molon Labe. 'Come and get them'."
